a dream realized
Ok, so I'm being a bit dramatic with the title but Lee REALLY wanted to make a gingerbread house this holiday season. Yesterday was the day and while you may think I'm exaggerating, Lee looked forward to it all day long! He was so excited by it that when I mentioned I'd work on getting everything out of the box and set out while he was fixing a few of the burned out lights in the yard, he asked me to wait. Apparently he really wanted us to do it ALL together...how sweet is that?!!

Yep, that's Lee reading the instructions! How lucky am I?!
Here I am piping the icing/glue onto the walls of the house.
It's starting to take shape...
I wasn't kidding, Lee was a total "hands on" partner for both the construction of the house and the decoration (as you'll see shortly)
Hmmm...sure is missing something. Guess we'll give it windows after all!
Before Lee opted to give decorating a try, he resorted to drawing his vision of the windows knowing how I need my "visual aid." Unfortunately my free hand drawing didn't turn out like his vision so I opted to use bottle caps candy instead.
The windows Lee drew on the side of the house turned out perfect!! Sure do wish he would have done the ones on the front. Check out Maggie lounging on the kitty condo in the background...she looks at bit too interested in our creation, if you ask me.
Lee wanted to add a "snow" outline on the roof so off he went and I must say, it definitely added the finishing touch to our house!

I love the house! I have always wanted to do one of those. I wouls have to hide it in the microwave whenever we leave and at nigfht because Jack-the-Cat would totally "move on in". Good Job! Sorry I haven't posted a comment in a while. I know a note is always appreciated and I want you to know you are a great writter.
I agree with Chris, that you are a great writer. These picutres surely show that it was a "team" effort and what fun. I have always enjoyed seeing these cottages and have talked about doing them over the years, but alas haven't made that dream a reality. For the last several years there is a Festival of Trees held at the coliseum here in Winston and there are "cottages" decorated and you bid on them. Some of them were absolutely incredible this year. There was a Carolina house which was well done. Keep up the good work and good luck on those cookies for today for the employees.

:( I'm sad - the pictures didn't come through on my computer. I am going to try and "click" on the x, but you know my computer, it will probably freeze....hey, did you and Lee toss flour on each other like you and Carol did to make it look like you actually baked it?
Looks like there were some technical difficulties with the pictures after being posted and viewed. Weird. Anyway, it should be fixed now as I've added the pictures again. Hopefully it stays fixed...
Yea! Whatever you did worked. It looks great. Thanks for "fixing" it.
