better late than never [i hope]

In the haste of getting ready for our quick weekend trip I was a very bad daughter-in-law and forgot to set up a post that would "magically" appear on Sunday with very special birthday wishes. You see, Sunday was my mother-in-law's birthday and while we personally conveyed our "happy birthday" wishes over the phone [she was unable to join us at Bristol], I feel terrible that my normal birthday "shout out" wasn't properly planned.

Connie, I hope your day was filled with lots of love, laughter, and new memories. Speaking of memories, this is one of my favorite pictures of you. It was taken during s'mores night on our first family beach vacation [2 summers ago]. I'm not sure what you were laughing about but it made your eyes dance with the mischievousness of a little girl. Hopefully your birthday brought with it something that made you giddy once again!

Thanks to both of you for your wonderful words and wishes. I am a bit surprised with the picture, but then Cyndi always has a way of capturing us when we at least expect it, right Sue? I have been trying to remember what in the world I would have been so tickled about.
I did have a great birthday and have been celebrating most of the week with friends and family. My family treated me very well and entertained me also with a trip to Bonefish Grill. We were there during the time that Carolina was playing ball, so someone from the table would go to the bar and check the score and return to the table with a report. It was certainly not the way anyone in our capacity would want to watch "our team" play, but the end result was great.
Sadie, I look forward someday to meeting you after all of the wonderful things I hear about you as well.
Cyndi, thank you so much for the post. Love you.
