13 on thursday {fall photo edition}

As I type this {on Wednesday afternoon} it's 90 degrees outside. Seriously. 90 degrees! While the heat may still be on in this section of the country I did my best over the weekend to channel a little fall feel in our house. I'm not a huge fan of Halloween so I tend to keep our fall decor simple enough that it will flow seamlessly into Thanksgiving. Let's see how you think I did...

The light was pretty bad so you can't see the fun flowers we planted in pots in the front of the house {boo} but you can see the hard work my mom & David put into replacing + painting the wood pieces back in May. I sure do wish I had a "before" to share with you but, sadly, I don't. Huge thanks {again} to my mom and step-dad for all of their hard work!!

Welcome!

These mums were my bunko gift this month - love how they go with our bench.

Simple, yet classic, mantle decor. I made myself take pictures so I wouldn't forget this year's version since it's our new favorite. I always think I'm going to remember but I never do.

I like this angle because you can see the curtains my mom helped me hang back in May as well. Thanks to her our dining room finally feels finished. Thanks mom!

Above and below is a little touch of fall on our coffee table. Nothing big but enough to make it feel cozy inside.

Sweet Maggie watching me take pictures. I know you've seen similar versions of this picture but I couldn't help post another. Love her eye color!

This is my favorite of the bunch. Not only do I love the color combo of the plant + pot but I think the rock looks a little bit like a heart. Seems fitting since a whole lot of love went into bring a small touch of fall to our home.

Happy {almost} Weekend!

These pictures are really good and I love the one looking from the mantle toward the dining room. It really is lovely. The colors of the flowers are terrific. I can only imagine how difficult it must be to feel fall in the air with 90 degree weather.
Wonderful post!

So pretty! I think your house could be featured in a decorating magazine. Photos are great.

I have been wondering how your photography classes are coming along. I enjoy changing our mantel for the seasons too. Have a great week.
