My dad and step-mom flew in from CA to celebrate Thanksgiving with us. We haven't had visitors for Thanksgiving since our first year in Shreveport so it was wonderful to have family here to share it with. We tried to keep it fairly simple but we still ended up with WAY more food than we needed {as a matter of fact, we had leftovers for dinner again tonight - so good!}

See those sourdough rolls? They were brought from CA because I had a craving for sourdough and the stuff here just doesn't taste the same. They even brought extra so we'd have some in the freezer the next time the craving hit. Love it!

This is my dad & step-mom, Linda. Although she's looking down I still love this picture because of the smile my dad has on his face. Love it. We learned while they were here that this is the first time they've traveled out of state for a holiday. It was so great to have them here. Fun times were definitely had {more on that in a future post}.

Thanksgiving wouldn't be complete without dessert. This year I went with a
crowd favorite and a
new-to-me recipe. Both were hits and, yes, I'm being tempted to finish them off now that I see this picture.
I hope everyone out there had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

How wonderful that they came to see you for Thanksgiving! You didn't mention the main course--did you have turkey? And did everyone share in the cooking?
I look forward to finding out more of what you've been up to. Life has been hectic here and I know it is the same for you. I miss you! XO
