new year: new age: new me

It's been a busy week. Last Saturday we marked a new year and on Wednesday I turned a year older. I don't normally feel any wiser as my candles increase but this year is different, this year I feel a bit wiser and more aware. Aware of what is important, aware of what drains my energy, aware of the things I do that I probably shouldn't, aware that I have great things to accomplish {even though I don't yet know what they are}. While I don't expect to make huge, sweeping changes in my life I have decided to adopt a word in which most of what I try to do in 2011 will revolve around.

I was advised to not just haphazardly pick a word, but instead try a few on {so to speak} and see how they feel before committing. After reading Heather's post on her word of the year {for 2010}, one word immediately popped in my mind and for the past week I've thought about it a lot and used it to guide me. The word, my word for 2011, is SIMPLIFY. I'm hoping this will allow me to focus on what's important, let go of the habits that drain my inspiration & energy, and work to declutter all areas of my life.

A good word! Let us know how it goes and how it factors into life. I like this idea.
